Lunar New Year, Diwali, Genocide Remembrance Day, Admission Day, and Columbus Day are not observed ( Code of Civil Procedure, Section 135 ). Good Friday is a State holiday which is observed from noon until 3:00 p.m. pursuant to Government Code, Section 6700 . However, since the Good Friday observance does not constitute a full day as required by Code of Civil Procedure, Section 135, it does not constitute a judicial holiday and will not be observed as such.

Pursuant to California Rules of Court, Rule 1.11 , when a judicial holiday specified by Code of Civil Procedure, Section 135 falls on Sunday, the courts shall observe the holiday on the following Monday. When a judicial holiday specified by Code of Civil Procedure, Section 135 falls on a Saturday, the courts shall observe the holiday on the preceding Friday.
